Punk Songs You Should Know II

(Click Image To View In Full)

Welcome to the 2nd installment of Punk Songs You Should Know. Fix My Brain is a classic powerpop song by an Austin based band that burnt out before they could be properly recognized for their total abundance of awesome.

Here is a video of one of their performances from Emo's featuring 3 songs off their last album including Fix My Brain. Enjoy!

I'm going to be out of town this week until Thursday, so I'm updating the comic a little early. Hope you don't mind. See you Friday!

See You Next Fall

This is an adaptation of one of my favorite scene jokes. I actually had to draw this one twice becuase I felt the first rendition of the kids hitting the sidewalk and the aftermath was a little too gruesome and detracted from the jok to much. Granted the current version is still a little visceral, but the cartoony splat and giblet piles, I feel, are a definite improvement. Maybe if I was going for the Avan-Grade, Ingmar Bergman, ironic/tragic angle for the joke it might have worked, but I don't think this is THAT type of a comic strip.

Also, I had a comic dedicated to me earlier today. Check out Lappy and Don's Office Adventures, its really one of the better comics hosted on Smack Jeeves: http://lappyanddon.smackjeeves.com/comics/534556/music-tastes-like-chicken/

Sorry this one is late. It was a hectic weekend and I really didn't have much time for anything other then sleep and restroom breaks, so I wasn't able to get a start on it until Monday afternoon. For anyone who's used GIMP before you'll know what I mean when I say that it is a sweaty butt to work with. It took me forever finish this comic, but it's done and that's what counts! See you all Friday!

Punk Songs You Should Know

(Click Image to View in Full)

This is the first installment of a series of strips that I've been thinking about doing for a while. Orienting short, one or two panel, comics around a punk song that we all know and love. I figured Motorhead was a good way of starting things off with; becuase, lets face it, who doesn't love Motorhead? Ace of Spades Bitches!

I feel really good about this week. I was able to update 3 times and finished out the first real arch of my webcomic's already illustrious career... also I got a Zune. This was a good week.

Have a good weekend everyone! See you Monday!

Sam's Shiny New Soulmate IV

(Click Image to View in Full)

Special Wednesday NP Update! Y'all come back Friday, ya hear!

New Scrubs premiered last night. It was great to see the whole gang back in action. Elliot was self involved, Carla gave advise, Cox was enduring cynical, JD was a girl, Turk and him did a dance, and everybody learned a little something about death... The Janitor got fired too... what the hell was that all about?

Sam's Shiny New Soulmate III

I really wanted to post this strip on Friday, but I got caught up in other things an never got around to it. I'm really hoping to make up for it by posting 3 comics this week (Mon, Weds, Fri), but no guarantees. Sorry.

I went to our Christian Coffee house/ concert venue here in town, for the first time ever, this weekend to see Flatfoot 56 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91RYVkNd9tI). I had never been there before becuase I'm not a christian, (and honestly, get a little weirded out by religious folk in general) but Flatfoot was playing, and if you want to see punk bands in Green Bay, WI; you kinda have to take what you can get. It was weird though. Everyone prayed before the music started, and then when the band started playing the place turned into a huge mosh. I even got caught up in a circle pit. I've never been part of a circle pit in Green Bay before. It was crazy. Who thought you'd have to go to a christian venue to find a rowdy crowd in Mid-western Wisconsin. Not me. =P
